Bill C-207: An Act to amend the Canada Pension Plan

R.S., c. C- 8 Canada Pension Plan 1 Section 3 of the Canada Pension Plan is amended by adding the following after subsection (2): Provincial consent (2.1) Regulations under subsection (2) may only be made if the lieutenant governor in council of each of at least two thirds of the provinces that are not provinces providing a comprehensive pension plan, having in total not less than two thirds of the population of all those provinces, has signified the consent of that province. Coming Into Force 180th day after royal assent 2 This Act comes into force on the 180th day after the day on which it receives royal assent.
