Bill C-31: An Act to amend the Judges Act

Second Session, Thirty-ninth Parliament, 56-57 Elizabeth II, 2007-2008 STATUTES OF CANADA 2008CHAPTER 26 An Act to amend the Judges Act ASSENTED TO 18th JUNE, 2008 BILL C-31 RECOMMENDATION Her Excellency the Governor General recommends to the House of Commons the appropriation of public revenue under the circumstances, in the manner and for the purposes set out in a measure entitled “An Act to amend the Judges Act”. SUMMARY This enactment increases the number of judicial salaries that may be paid under paragraph 24(3)(b) of the Judges Act from thirty to fifty. Paragraph 24(3)(b) of the Judges Act is replaced by the following: (b) fifty, in the case of judges appointed to superior courts in the provinces other than appeal courts.
