F-27 Food and Drugs Act 1 The Food and Drugs Act is amended by adding the following after section 5: Genetically modified food 5.‍1 No person shall sell any food that is genetically modified unless its label contains the information prescribed under paragraph 30(1)‍(b.‍2). 2 Subsection 30(1) of the Act is amended by adding the following after paragraph (b): (b.‍1) defining the expression “genetically modified”; (b.‍2) respecting the labelling of genetically modified food, to prevent the purchaser or the consumer of the food from being deceived or misled in respect of its composition; Coming into force Order in council 3 This Act comes into force on a day to be fixed by order of the Governor in Council.
