It also provides for exceptions. Available on the House of Commons website at the following address: www.ourcommons.ca 2nd Session, 43rd Parliament, 69 Elizabeth II, 2020 HOUSE OF COMMONS OF CANADA BILL C-260 An Act to amend the Canada Post Corporation Act Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate and House of Commons of Canada, enacts as follows: R.‍S.‍, c. C-10 Canada Post Corporation Act 1 The Canada Post Corporation Act is amended by adding the following after section 5: Definitions 5.‍1 (1) In this section, (a) beer has the same meaning as in section 4 of the Excise Act; and (b) spirits and wine have the same meaning as in section 2 of the Excise Act, 2001. Service (2) The Corporation shall not refuse to provide a postal service for the collection, transmission and delivery, direct to consumers, from one province to another, of beer, wine or spirits. Non-application (3) Subsection (2) does not apply in a province whose name is listed in the schedule. Order in council (4) The Governor in Council may, by order, amend the schedule (a) by adding the name of a province in which it is prohibited for a person to import, send, take or transport, or cause to be imported, sent, taken or transported, beer, wine or spirits into the province from another province or to export, send, take or transport, or cause to be exported, sent, taken or transported, beer, wine or spirits out of the province to another province, provided the Premier of the province has announced the prohibition in the provincial legislature six months before the effective date of the prohibition and has notified the Minister of the announcement; or (b) by deleting the name of a province in which the prohibition has ceased to apply, provided the Premier of the province has made an announcement to that effect in the provincial legislature and has notified the Minister of the announcement. 2 The Act is amended by adding, after section 62, the schedule set out in the schedule to this Act. Coming into Force Three months after royal assent 3 This Act comes into force three months after the day on which it receives royal assent.
