Available on the House of Commons website at the following address: www.ourcommons.ca 2nd Session, 43rd Parliament, 69-70 Elizabeth II, 2020-2021 HOUSE OF COMMONS OF CANADA BILL C-287 An Act to amend the Official Development Assistance Accountability Act Her Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate and House of Commons of Canada, enacts as follows: 2008, c. 17 Official Development Assistance Accountability Act 1 Subsection 4(1) of the Official Development Assistance Accountability Act is amended by striking out “and” at the end of paragraph (b) and by adding the following after paragraph (c): (d) does not promote the interests of a foreign government that has arbitrarily detained a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident within the meaning of subsection 2(1) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act or has engaged in a crime against humanity, genocide or a war crime within the meaning of subsections 6(3) to (5) of the Crimes Against Humanity and War Crimes Act; and (e) is consistent with Canada’s efforts to promote international peace and security.
