Bill C-333: An Act respecting a national day of remembrance to honour Canadian Armed Forces members who have lost their lives in peacetime in Canada

Short Title Short title 1 This Act may be cited as the Peacetime Service and Sacrifice Memorial Day Act . Purpose of Act Purpose 2 The purpose of this Act is to encourage all Canadians to remember and honour the Canadian Armed Forces members who have lost their lives on Canadian soil during peacetime. Peacetime Service and Sacrifice Memorial Day Designation 3 Throughout Canada, in each year, the 22nd day of October is to be known as “Peacetime Service and Sacrifice Memorial Day”. National flag at half-mast 4 On Peacetime Service and Sacrifice Memorial Day, the national flag of Canada on the Peace Tower is to be lowered to half-mast.
